Promoted through Cornell Levinson Program (CAPS) as PKU Partner University
- Open to any Cornell current undergraduate students who are interested in China and Asia-Pacific Studies (CAPS) and have an American passport.
- All in-country expenses, including meals and lodging, domestic transportation, program and course related tuition, as well as insurance, will be covered.
- Merit based scholarships, ranging from $1,000.00-3,000.00 USD, will be awarded for successful applicants.
Program Dates:
Route One: Jiangsu & Zhejiang & Shanghai: June 26-July 10, 2025
Route Two: Ningxia & Shaanxi & Sichuan: July 5-July 19, 2025
Application Instructions:
- Send your application packet, including a cover page (indicating your preference for the program’s route), resume and 500-1,000-word essay, to caps@cornell.edu no later than Saturday, February 8th, 2025.
In 500-1,000 words, submit an essay on one of the following two topics.
1) Why do you consider it important for American and Chinese students to understand each other better?
2) Describe an incident during which you become aware that you had an inaccurate stereotype about somebody with a different background. Alternatively, describe a situation where you yourself were treated in a stereotypical manner. What did you do in that situation and what did you learn from it?

- A copy of your transcript
- College-level of Chinese proficiency
- Nationality/citizenship
- Interest in CAPS (major or minor)
- Major or intended major (for those not identified in the application)
- Sex/gender (for those not identified in the application)
- Decisions for acceptance to the program and scholarship reward will be made by late February.
