The View From Dharamshala: Tibet, China, and the world (A Chat with Lobsang Sangay)

On November 14, the Cornell CAPS program hosted a seminar, titled "The View From Dharamshala: Tibet, China, And The World. A Chat with Lobsang Sangay." The seminar was moderated by Professor Allen Carlson, Associate Professor at the Cornell Department of Government.

Lobsang Sangay is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the East Asian Legal Studies Program and a lecturer at Harvard Law School. He was a democratically elected Sikyong (President) of the Tibetan Government in Exile and served two terms (2011-2021).

Sangay shared with Cornell students and faculty his views on human rights, the rule of law, and education rights in Tibet. He also shared his personal experience as the democratically elected Sikyong of the exile government and his take on the future of the relations between the exiled Tibetan community and mainland China.
